Phoebe Philo is really back to Fashion Bizness with her first Celine show.

Former Chloe designer Phoebe Philo is back on fashion track as the newest fashion sage of Celine. Her three-year absence was due to familial obligations, as she became a full-time hands on mom to her children.

Now that she’s back, except something more of a Celine reinvention from this svelte designer, pulling off a fresh, cool vibe, or even much better than what she did during her stint on her former fashion house.

Finally, after two years (she’s hired back in Sept 08), Phoebe Philo finally had her first show sought during the recent Paris Fashion Week–all with an elegant ready-to-wear sportswear collection for Spring/Summer 2010.

Check out some of Celine’s exquisite pieces next season: (all images from Vogue.co.uk)

A fabulous display of nude military jacket with playful cuts paired with ochre leather shorts and chunky shoes is my current favorito. Much to having a more experimental garb this Summer. ;)

Ultimate chicness and sophistication is a must in the house of Celine, particularly with this black and white ensemble.

Perfect workable wear, it is. Loving the loose trousers with black leather hems on the side. Consider white collarless top with a bell-like flair on the sleeves a timeless piece.

Trying Dashing Diva for the First Time!

Dashing Diva Eastwood City PhilippinesNo, I didn’t get a receptionist’s job. ;)   A few weeks ago, I ought to deserve a quick break from having bad nail days. Ever since I relocated to Eastwood, I haven’t been frequenting Ortigas-Shaw area–Shangri-la Mall to be exact. I was a loyal Nail Spa customer then, so not going for a long time seems like forever that my nails are starting to scare me. :P

That’s why, I didn’t mind checking out Dashing Diva’s newly-opened branch in Eastwood Mall, since my pedis were indeed in dire need of pampering. The nail salon caught my attention with its lovely rose pink interior. I heart!

I tried one of the lavish treatments available called Spoiled Diva Pedi for Php 600. Really expensive, eh? Wait till you know what’s in store for you! ;)

First, the technician put some lathering foot bath and had my footsies soaked for a while. It was kinda daunting esp that the water was really hot! Never mind, I thought, for as long as I could still bear the heat.

Foot Covered in Plastic Wrap, Dashing Diva, Eastwood Mall, Philippines

Then,  she [technician] brought out some plastic wrap. I had no idea what she’s gonna do with it, until she put some solution on my soles and covered both of my feet with the plastic wrap. I was a bit weirded out. I figured out later on that the solution was to make my soles (and calluses) softer. After wrapping, she started cleaning. I felt bad for her at that moment. lolol. :D

After the painstaking task, she grabbed some contraption  from her stuff, which appeared to be a microdermabrasion wand (like Clarisonic). It felt so amazing that I forgot to steal a snap on it, because it was the first time my feet ever experienced something suuper vain like that! It felt soothing as the pads ran through my legs, with the microbeads gently sloughing the dead skin cells off of it.

Sugar Scrub Dashing Diva Eastwood Mall Philippines

The spoiled brat diva treatment didn’t stop there, my now exfoliated feet underwent another exfoliating treatment–using sugar scrub this time around! I oh-so-loved it… It almost brought me to slumber.

What does Filippa Hamilton, RL & Photoshop Disasters have in common?

The connection is pretty obvious between model Filippa Hamilton and Ralph Lauren, but what does it have something to do with Photoshop Disasters to make it more controversial?

Filippa Hamilton

*Filippa Hamilton*

Controversy #1: Filippa Fired for being “Fat”

Filippa Hamilton, the stunning Swedish-French model gracing Ralph Lauren Ads since 2002, has been fired all because she is FAT. According to her interview in Today’s Show, “They said that I couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore.”

Polo Ralph Lauren, on the contrary, issued a statement on NY Daily News saying Filippa is a “beautiful and healthy” woman but their relationship ended “as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract [with us].”

If you watched the interview here, she doesn’t look so bad at all, not even chubby at least! At 5-foot-8 and 120 pounds, her body mass index is close to normal-underweight level which makes me think, “does Ralph Lauren Blue Label Collection carry only doll clothes?” Hmmm.. perhaps my barbie doll could fit into one of their tees.

Controversy #2: Disastrous Photoshop’ped Ralph Lauren Ad Leaked

Filippa Hamilton Ralph Lauren Photoshop DisasterBut the real “ire” starts here. Filippa wasn’t really mad that she got axed by whom she considered her second family. It was this ridiculously photoshopped image of the model that appeared only in Japan that caused quite a stir, as it was featured on Photoshop Disasters. The issue was certainly blown out of proportion when RL lawyers tried to sue PD and another website for copyright infringement. Gone were the company’s threats and the motion to pull out the image online, and so the plethora of media that jumped on the story’s bandwagon.

Later, the company issued an apology. “The image in question was mistakenly released and used in a department store in Japan and was not the approved image which ran in the U.S. We take full responsibility. This error has absolutely no connection to our relationship with Filippa Hamilton.”

On the other hand, Filippa thinks that they [RL] owe American women a big apology. She’s very proud of what she looks like, and that a role model should look healthy.

More Photoshop Madness

Katrina Halili Photoshop Disaster - Mega Magazine

Seems like my tip has been published only recently, featuring Mega Magazine’s photoshop “mishap” particularly on Katrina Halili’s hands (who was the cover girl for that month). Okay, not that I have no hidden grudge on Mega. :P I really find it absurd and unnecessary to make her taller and slimmer, other than airbrushing her to pore-fection. The end-result is always unrealistic!

Stashed: Coach Pink Wristlet

Thank God, I’m feeling a lot better! :) Going back blogging simply means I hafta keep my promise to post something new as frequent as possible. I hope I can stick to my promise into posting at least 5 times a week! ;)

Anyways, a nice, simple thing to reward oneself is by getting a new accessory. I’m in the middle of recuperating from last week’s illness, and I’m very happy to say that my nasty, icky coughs and colds are reduced to nil. No more snuffles!~ Even the massive headaches have alleviated. Now, my mind’s all clear, and I can finally post something here. (”A” for effort in rhyming) Hurrah! :D

Coach Soho Pink Signature Large Wristlet

*Coach Soho Mini-Signature Large Wristlet in Pink/Natural*

First off, I got this Coach Pink Wristlet. I really find classic Coach handbags very, very classy. It sets a sophisticated vibe, and best of all, it’s far cheaper than Louis Vuitton’s. Okay, it’s not that I wanna get my hands off a fab LV speedy, hampstead or neverfull! :P

I used to own a classic Coach Soho handbag in brown, the one in a signature Coach monogram jacquard fabric and leather trims. So, I’m gonna pass getting the same handbag for now. I should’ve gotten a Marc Jacobs Bag (the Marc by Marc Jacobs lang, since the line is mucho cheaper), but I guess it could wait. Since my funds are depleted by the recent typhoon, I just got a Coach Soho Mini-Signature Large Wristlet in Pink/Natural. Well, it’s about time to add some color to my monochromatic accessories!

While browsing Coach website, I found this item really, really interesting. Tartans (popularly known as Plaids) are making quite a noise for a while. I’m not really a plaid person, so forgive me for the trend denial. It was just last time that I saw a pair of Lacoste Plaid Shoes, and now this:

Retails for $98 only. =) Surprisingly, it isn’t so bad!

Okay, I’d still go for the classic jacquard monogram. How about you? xx

Feeling under the weather.

Vogue US and Cosmopolitan Philippines - October 2009 IssueNot that I’m going on hiatus, it’s just I’ve been terribly busy for the past few weeks doing my day job, which is why I can hardly make an update. :( Right now, I’m feeling under the weather. And, it seems that the weather looks so ill & gloomy at the moment.

Anyhoos, nothing beats a fab prescription (or, should I say, subscription) of these two magazines I recently grabbed for the month of October. Of course, there’s Vogue and late actor Heath Ledger’s former flame Michelle Williams is on the cover. I wasn’t really planning to grab Cosmo Ph, but the baby blue color scheme drew me into getting it. Bea Alonzo is on the cover. Didn’t really super like Bea’s overall ensemble, albeit the top was kinda cute. It’s just weird having tank top and denim short shorts on the cover at this very season. On the other hand, I suggest you to leaf the travel section pages. They’re definitely worth the heed!

That’s it for now. Will bounce back soon and try to bring you some highlights on the latest Spring 2010 collection. LV, Galliano and McQueen has brought us some quirky vibes.  I still have yet to check other faboosh collections I might have missed out. Also, I still have a lot of beauty products lined up for an in-depth review.

Hope y’all feeling well! Ta-ta xx

Stashed: Fab Lunch Box from Lock & Lock

Lookie, lookie someone had a bit of shopping amid the rainy days last week! :)

Lock & Lock

Yes, it’s something from Lock & Lock. I’ve been meaning to get myself a fab lunch box to tote along at work. I visited Lock & Lock branch in Eastwood Mall. It’s really BIG, but the selections weren’t that much. :(

I promised myself not to splurge too much on food, and to bring packed lunches as frequent as possible at work.  Anyhoos, here’s what I’ve got:

Lock & Lock Lunch box

Tada!

Lock & Lock Lunch box opened

Lock & Lock Polka Dot Lunch Box in Black. It’s also available in Grey, but decided to get the mucho darker hue for obvious reasons.

Lock & Lock Lunch box inside

Contents are nicely packed and organised inside the insulated bag. :)

Lock & Lock Lunch box set

The lunch box set includes a water bottle, a pair of utensils and two microwave oven-safe containers.

More story here. xx
