School of Fashion and Arts (SOFA) Manila is currently having its free fashion workshop courses for this month ’til August! I might be a lil’ bit late sharing you such fab details, since workshops in Shangri-la Mall already ended, but you can still save these dates for Eastwood and Podium malls!

Check out Eastwood Mall Atrium from July 24-25 , as they’re gonna be having the workshop starting 2pm ’til 6.

I’m not sure if its a” double date” for Podium, but you can check Podium Atrium this August 1st, also from 2-6pm.

Workshops include: Fashion Design, Basic Draping, Beading and Embellishment, Fashion Styling and more!

Of course, I won’t be missing Eastwood Mall this Friday and Saturday! I’m quite eying for the Fashion Design short course. xx

P.S. It is a MUST to come on time, since they’re gonna be offering slots on first-come-first-serve basis the last time I checked the tarp.

Looking back, my makeup kit (so-called kikay kit) has evolved in years. Before, it started as a tiny pouch with press powder & chapstick in it. Then, it grew up by adding liquid foundation (I used Cover Girl then), lip gloss and concealer (I used Avon concealer stick).

Back in college, I made a full switch to using VMV Hypoallergernics products: from powder-foundation down to concealer. As soon as I started working, I upgraded into using MAC Cosmetics, hence the studiofix, concealer and lots of lip glasses.

I just hate to see blemishes standing out on my face, so I stashed in Cinema Secrets Concealer to do its job.

Due to my studiofix rant (couple it with my being adverturesome when it comes to makeup), I decided to make another switch, yet again, to Shu Uemura White Recovery RX Powder-Foundation, along with its Pro Concealer.

Oh well, much has been changed. First, breakouts are finally going, going, gone (I hope this is gonna be the last time I’ll be seeing you, zits!), that’s why I don’t have to put on loads of kabuki-thick makeup. Then, I finally learned how to set my makeup to last longer (thanks to my mattifier, oil-blotting sheets and loose powder), and to practice the cardinal rule of skin care by wearing sun block everyday.

Enough gab, here’s my present kikay kit:

Starting off with my Wicked Sista makeup bag from Beauty Bar. They got pretty makeup bag designs that’s proven to be durable and waterproof. I’ve been avidly using these for almost a year. xx

Here’s what’s inside my makeup kit. I know it’s not a lot, but these are essential stuff meant for everyday use (well, at least when going out!). Products are:

Shu Uemura Sheer Colorless Loose Face Powder – Lurve this. Sets my makeup well for a smooth, flawless finish
Shu Uemura White Recovery RX Powder-Foundation in 754 - My new makeup BFF. Not too sheer, nor too heavy. It gives just-right coverage
Shu Uemura Pro Concealer in 7YR (Blendable. Perfect for Tropical Climate. I used Cinema Secrets though when I was in Belgium, coz this one was as hard as a rock! See review here)
Bloom Shadow Liner in Ebony Brown (My HG eye liner)
BeneFit Eye Shadow Duo in Fate Made me Do It (Lavender/Smoke Gray) – I don’t really use it that often. But, this is the smallest e/s set I can stash inside my makeup bag
Lancome Virtuose Mascara – Lengthens and Defines my Lashes. See review here
Smashbox Anti Shine – Great for keeping oilies at bay. Sometimes heavy on the skin, so I don’t use it everyday. More review soon!
Chanel Lumiere Lift Concealer in Beige Lumiere – I’m a freak when it comes to anti-aging stuff. Lurve how it blends and moisturizes the skin around my eyes. Lessens its puffiness to boot. Can double as liquid foundation See review here)
MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Gaily – I don’t hafta wear lipgloss over it, coz it’s that moisturizing
MAC Lip Glass in Soft and Slow – Only if I wanted nude lips xx
MAC 3D Lip Glass in Wondershine – Has rich red color for a bolder look.
The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain – Good thing Body Shop reformulated this from liquid to gel. Use it everyday for that just-bitten, reddish lips.
Agent Provocateur Lip Balm – Not really that effective to keep lips from chapping. But, heart its cooling effect, making my pout look naturally redder xx
Diesel Fuel for Life Unlimited Sample – I just put it for the sole purpose of making my makeup bag smell good. Ha-ha!

(Not in pics: The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blotting Tissues, Neutrogena Dry Touch Ultra-Sheer SPF 50 Sunblock, Shu Uemura UV Base and Shu Uemura Curlash)

Hoping to see what’s yours soon! xx

The love month has just begun. Most of us are already prepping up for the big day–come the next 2 weeks! I’m sure you already have plans to shop for a gorgeous ensemble, but be sure not to forget getting a signature V-day scent of your choice!

Whether you and your hottie date are romanticizing over a posh candlelit dinner, trekking adventurously in a faraway place or simply ambling at the seashore while waiting for the sunset, spritzing on a fab scent is a total M-U-S-T. You can surely rely on your lavish perfumes or body mists in order to turn your man on–starting off with his olfactory nerves!

We all agree that sweet, luscious scents are inviting. It somehow serves as pheromones that attract and mesmerize the opposite sex, even with just a single sniff!

Today, we bring you our Top Perfume Picks on Valentine’s day, depending on what kind of date you’re having.

Intimate Candlelit Nights

Lanvin Eclat D Arpege is one of my favorite scents. It has a charming floral scent with a hint of musk, and is really perfect for posh soirees and nightly events. The lovely bottle alone, designed by the house of Lanvin, utterly spells sophistication.

Sports Unlimited

Davidoff Cool Water for Women has been a cult favorite by many. It’s generally made of fruity-floral top notes that instantly lift and perk up your mood, leaving you freshly clean and revitalized. This cool scent is really great for active women on-the-go. Wearing it will keep you going and going–so does your man!

I have recently discovered this all powerful potion care of my dermatologist. I was breaking out like crazy a couple of months back because of my hormonal problem, so I sought her help (again). She recommended me using MaMa Lotion to fade those dark spots caused by zits as well as to make the skin more supple and control the incoming flare ups.

You may wonder why is it called MaMa Lotion. I, on the other hand, thought that it has to do something with “mothers”. Ha-ha. I know it sounds silly. But, MaMa lotion is a 20% AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) solution which consists of 10% Mandelic acid and 10% Malic acid and has an acidic ph of 2.5. So obviously, the name is gotten from the two acids it contains.

Going back, I got it transferred into a smaller, 10ml atomizer. My dermatologist told me to use it every other day (to be applied during night time), perhaps because of its high acid content. It has this gluish, sticky consistency which makes my face tad sticky when applied. I have to leave it for, say, 30 minutes before the product sinks into the skin.

The effects are noticeable within a week! My skin got smoother and more supple. My breakouts are under control each time I use it. I also notice some fading on the acne scars.

Not only that, MaMa lotion is also known for its anti-aging properties as it helps in minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and age spots.

I got to check their website and saw marvelous raves and reviews about this product.

MaMa Lotion is the ultimate agent for those wanting clear, healthy skin. Its powerful formula is tough on wrinkles, acne, and scars, yet gentle on the skin. -SkincareRX.com

Each 1.67 fl. oz. bottle costs $44.50.Quite pricey, but definitely worth the value.

Now, I’m currently lemming for this lip balm in particular, Kiehls Facial Fuel Non-Shine Lip Balm.

This lip balm is said to work wonders relieving chapped or cracked lips in pronto. I have been suffering from painful chapped lips since I restarted taking my oral isotretinoin meds (in which one of the effects is dryness particularly on the lip area). It also temporarily protects lips sans the shine, leaving the pucker stick-and-grease free.

This pocket-sized lip balm costs $8.50 in a 4.4 g stick. Not bad, eh?
